It is well known that its cars are extremely reliable and Volvo has developed such a reputation many years ago, even before passenger safety became a hot topic.
Ever since, several car companies have begun to give more importance to safety and security options and the Swedish company began entering a sort of identity crisis since the most important value of the brand was about to be lost.
It seems that the investment was pretty worthy as the new Volvo XC90 received the “Top Safety Pick +” prize from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), an organization founded by auto insurers, which subjects cars to various tests by crashing them into different obstacles and checking vehicle’s behavior and resistance in such situations. As you can see in the video released by IIHS, the car has excelled during the most difficult crash test, and the evaluation verdict was “good” which means that “XC90 has a low risk of causing wounds during a severe accident”.
